A powerful, cool-climate Syrah with lifted aromas of crushed black pepper, violet, charred herbs and graphite over dark plum and wild blackberry. The palate is finely structured, with ferrous tannins, silken acidity, subtle smoky oak and long notes of black olive, cedar and cracked pepper.

Fruit for Dreadnought 2022 was hand-harvested from Man O’ War’s steep eastern Waiheke vineyards. Mostly de-stemmed with portions of whole bunch for aromatic lift and complexity, it was naturally fermented in open-top vessels and matured for 18 months in a mix of seasoned and new French oak. The result is Syrah that captures the precision, salinity and character of its coastal sites.
